Application Deadline:                           Grant Amount:

Mission Statement of the Sugar Plump Fairies:

Through creativity, silliness, and fun-raising, The Sugar Plump Fairies seek to inspire the generosity of others to provide the youth of the Auburn area with greater access to the Arts in all its forms.

Grant Program Description and Objectives:

The Sugar Plump Fairies use performance art and creativity to support good works in the community. We believe that the arts can open minds, provide inspiration, connect people across cultural, racial, and class boundaries, and generally enhance the quality of life for individuals and our community.

The purpose of the Sugar Plump Fairy Grant Program, Artrageous is to provide mini-grants, not to exceed $500.00, for creative projects that will expose our Auburn area youth to the diverse world of the arts. We hope to inspire youth to use their own creativity to enhance their lives and the community.

~Artists, performers, writers, musicians, etc., desiring to bring a program to children of the greater Auburn Area.

~ Non-profit organizations

~Schools

~Service clubs and youth groups

~Individual youth, ages 3-18, who reside in the greater Auburn area, and have the support of a parent or guardian for their grant request.

~Fundraisers of any kind

~Projects that discriminate on the basis of race, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, or disability.

Support May be Requested For:

  1. Performance- We may contribute funds towards bringing performance to community youth audiences.  We are particularly interested in, but not limited to, performances that foster understanding and appreciation for diversity and world cultures. Examples: Mariachi band, Taiko drumming, rap performance, ethnic dance troupe, visual arts, youth symphony.
  1. Education- Fund tuition for art classes and camps for individuals or groups.  We may provide funds to pay for “artists-in-residence” to present assemblies, workshops or demonstrations in local schools or youth programs. Examples: An aspiring vocalist could receive funds for an intensive specialized workshop.  A performing artist could give a performance and then mentor /teach related skills to a group of youth.
  1. Materials- We may provide funds to purchase actual materials required in order for youth to participate in the arts. Examples: purchase or rent a musical instrument, purchase paints and canvasses, purchase dance shoes, etc.

We are a new non-profit. Our funds are currently limited and so our initial grants will be for projects that reach the greatest number of youth.
